Zebra Celebrates San Diego's 7th Annual Electric Vehicle Day
September 18, 2019
If you’re going to be part of a community, you have to be there for the events that matter. You should meet people, talk to them, and get to know their needs — person-to-person, face-to-face.
For seven years, San Diego has hosted an annual Electric Vehicle Day celebration, in the month of September. It’s a free event, open to the public, and welcoming to everyone from the EV diehards to the curious newcomers. The 2019 festivities were held in Liberty Station, right in the heart of the city’s Point Loma community, and Zebra was there. Here’s how it all went down.
Customers are People, and People Love EVs
At local events like this one, one of the best ways to get the word out is to pitch a tent, hang out, and get to know people. San Diego’s Electric Vehicle Day attracts all kinds of locals who are interested in learning more about EVs, driving them, or figuring out if it’s the right next step for their lives.
To that end, the Zebra crew spent the entire day meeting, talking to, and hanging out with hundreds of people, all of whom took a little time out of their day to learn more about what Zebra is offering. Instead of simply passing out sales brochures or hitting social media with advertisements, this event provided a chance for Zebra to talk to people in person, to answer their questions, to explain how the EV rental service works, and — best of all — give them a chance to take a Zebra out on a test drive. Sure enough, over 100 test drives happened in that one day.
Just as excitingly, a number of existing customers dropped in throughout the day, just to say hi. Of these, three kind folks stayed with us throughout the afternoon, and took the time to explain their love of Zebra to any potential new customers walking by.
Zebra is Coming
Traditional gasoline vehicles are the past. EVs are the future. However, not everyone wants to throw down big money on owning their own vehicle. That’s where Zebra comes in: with no special license required, no hidden fees, and for only $99 a month, anyone can rent their own electric scooter and take it anywhere they need to go.
Zebra is coming, and thanks to this special San Diego event, hundreds of new customers got the opportunity to try it out. Are you next?
